Answers the call immediately

Your parking intercom calls Rossy AI the same way it would call another configured telephone or SIP destination. Rossy answers the call, greets the driver, and starts the appropriate workflow.

  • Answers configured intercom calls 24/7, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Can handle multiple calls without requiring every driver to wait behind another
  • Identifies which entry or exit gate the call came from on multi-lane and multi-site facilities
2

Identifies the driver and the reason for the call

Rossy AI checks existing systems first and only asks the driver for information that is not already available.

  • Establishes whether the driver cannot enter, cannot exit, has a payment problem, needs validation, has lost a ticket, or requires assistance with the gate
  • Uses existing data when available, without asking the driver to repeat it
  • Asks for missing details such as reservation number, validation code, license plate, phone number or suite number
  • If the details do not return a match, asks for another identifier and searches again before escalating
3

Applies your parking rules

Rossy AI checks the driver’s details against your facility’s parking rules, not just your records.

  • Checks parking reservations, validation codes, monthly parking accounts, ticket information and authorized visitor lists
  • Confirms the monthly parker is authorized and verifies whether the driver is within permitted access hours
  • Applies your configured parking rules, including grace periods, overstays, lost tickets, validated visitors, monthly parker access, and calculates applicable hourly parking charges based on the duration of stay
  • Checks payment status where a payment system is integrated.
4

Performs the required actions

Once Rossy AI knows who is calling and why, it carries out the action that situation requires, based on your configured workflow.

  • Sends the configured DTMF command to open a compatible entry or exit gate, using your existing intercom with no new hardware installed, or redirects the driver to the required payment terminal or payment flow.
  • Provides step-by-step guidance, including directing the driver to the correct lane, level, terminal or exit.
  • Answers the driver’s questions about rates, validation, hours and facility rules, and completes other predefined actions required for the interaction.
5

Escalates anything it cannot verify

Rossy AI does not guess. If an issue cannot be resolved, additional verification is required, or human assistance is needed, the call is escalated to an authorized person.

  • Explains clearly why the gate cannot be opened yet
  • Transfers payment disputes and billing questions to your on-call staff or parking operator
  • Routes emergencies immediately according to your written policy
6

Records every call and every outcome

Every interaction is logged with call details, verification results, and access outcomes, giving your team complete visibility into every gate access request.

  • Full recording, transcript and AI summary of each call
  • Records what was verified, which system was checked, and whether the gate was opened
  • Searchable by date, gate, lane, driver and outcome

From Intercom Call to Gate Decision in Seconds

A parking attendant can only take one call at a time, and only during the hours they are on duty. Rossy AI answers every lane, at every hour, and hands the exceptions back to your team.

Traditional Parking Intercom Workflow

  • A driver presses the intercom at the gate.
  • An attendant or remote operator must be available to answer
  • The attendant asks who the driver is and what the problem is
  • The attendant manually checks the reservation, validation or account
  • The attendant decides whether the gate should open
  • The attendant enters the gate command
  • Busy or unanswered calls leave vehicles queued in the lane
  • Gate activity may be difficult to review later

With Rossy AI

  • A driver presses the intercom at the gate.
  • Rossy answers instantly
  • Identifies the gate and vehicle, along with the associated monthly parker, using available data
  • Collects the required parking information
  • Checks the connected authorized system
  • Applies your configured parking rules
  • Opens the gate when authorized
  • Escalates payment disputes and exceptions to a human
  • Records the interaction and outcome

How DTMF Gate Access Works

DTMF stands for dual-tone multi-frequency. It is the technology behind the tones a telephone keypad produces when a key is pressed.

Telephone and SIP intercoms have accepted these tones as a remote gate command for years. When an attendant presses a key to lift a barrier for a stuck driver, the intercom hears that tone and triggers the relay connected to the gate operator.

Rossy AI uses the same mechanism. After the required authorization conditions have been satisfied, it sends your intercom’s configured tone through the call that is already connected. The intercom or associated access system interprets that command and activates its configured relay, and the gate opens.

Nothing new is installed in the lane. No wiring changes. No replacement panel. Rossy AI works with the command your parking intercom already recognizes.

Does Rossy AI Work With Your Parking Intercom?

DTMF gate access requires a compatible telephone or SIP intercom, connected to a gate relay or access system, and configured to accept remote DTMF commands.

Generally compatible

  • Lane intercoms and call boxes that dial out to a phone number
  • SIP and VoIP parking intercoms on a network connection
  • Cellular-connected entry and exit call stations
  • Systems where an attendant already lifts the barrier using a keypad tone

Needs review before we commit

  • Intercoms with no outbound dialling capability
  • Call boxes wired only to a local booth handset
  • Systems where remote gate release has been disabled in configuration
  • Older analogue units with no documented DTMF release command
We will not tell you Rossy AI works with every parking intercom, because it does not. Before anything goes live, our team confirms your make, model, line type and configured gate command, and tells you plainly whether it will work.

Connect Rossy AI With Your Existing Parking Systems

Rossy AI connects to the systems that already hold your parking records, so verification runs against live data rather than a static list.

Complete Visibility Into Every Access Request

Every intercom call produces a record, so you can answer the question gate hardware alone cannot, who asked to get out, and what happened next.

  • Full call recording and transcript for every interaction
  • AI summary of who called, from which gate, why, and what was decided
  • Verification trail showing which system was checked and what was confirmed
  • Gate outcome recorded as opened, declined, or escalated
  • Gate, lane and site identification on multi-entry and multi-facility operations
  • Escalation log showing who was transferred to and when
  • Searchable history by date, site, gate, driver or outcome

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Rossy AI answer entry and exit intercom calls?

Yes. When a compatible parking intercom is configured to place its call to Rossy AI, Rossy can answer the incoming call, speak with the driver, collect information, follow configured validation logic, and determine the appropriate next step.

Can Rossy AI identify which gate a driver is calling from?

Yes, where each gate or lane is configured with its own identifiable calling destination. Rossy can then apply the rules and escalation contacts specific to that entry or exit point.

Can Rossy AI open a parking gate using DTMF?

For compatible telephone or SIP intercom configurations, Rossy can send a configured DTMF command during the active call after the required authorization conditions have been satisfied. The intercom or associated access system then interprets that command and activates its configured relay.

Can Rossy AI validate a parking customer?

Yes, when the appropriate authorized system or integration is available. Rossy can check a reservation, validation code, monthly account, ticket, phone number or license plate against the connected source before triggering an authorized action.

What happens when a driver has a payment problem?

Rossy can explain the outstanding amount where payment status is integrated, direct the driver to the required payment terminal or payment flow, or transfer the call to your authorized staff. Payment disputes are escalated rather than resolved automatically.

What happens if a driver has lost their ticket?

Rossy follows your configured lost-ticket policy. That may include verifying the vehicle through another identifier, applying your lost-ticket rate, directing the driver to a payment terminal, or transferring the call to an authorized person.

Can Rossy AI transfer an emergency to a human operator?

Yes. Emergencies and situations that fall outside configured automated rules can be routed immediately to designated personnel according to your written procedure.

Does Rossy AI work with existing parking intercoms?

Compatibility depends on the intercom and access-control configuration. The system must support the required telephone or SIP calling workflow, DTMF signaling, and appropriate relay or remote-unlock configuration. We confirm this before deployment.
